Add Some Style and Color to your Multimedia Experience | iSkin earTones, iSkin earPhones

The very name iSkin itself is instantly recognizable among those who own a portable media player, simply because the company does roll out accessories in the premium range for mobile devices, and among their latest devices would be the earTones stereo earphones that come complete with a microphone and remote control, boasting a stylish design and eye-popping colors to capture the attention of anyone who takes but a glance at it.
Specifically designed for today’s wide range of digital gadgets, the earTones by iSkin is capable of delivering high-definition sound, being lightweight in nature and comfortable to boot. Thanks to its integrated microphone and remote control, the earTones will be able to hook up to your iPhone, iPad, iPod, Mac and other supported gadgets to deliver audio in/out, not to mention the ability to remotely answer and end calls, as well as control music and video playback.
We do understand that some of us are pretty paranoid about the cleanliness of our gizmos, and carry a bottle of sanitizer around with us wherever we go just to be on the safe side. The new earTones by iSkin will definitely appeal to those in that category even more since it features Microban, a kind of antimicrobial product protection that is applied on both the ear buds and the microphone so that the growth of fungus, odor- and stain-causing bacteria is inhibited. Needless to say, this is the first product of its kind that will feature such advanced integrated protection.
When it comes to comfort, each pair of earTones boast lightweight materials and soft-tipped earbuds with FlexFit, an industry-first flexible neck which paves the way for the earbuds to flex when inserted into the ear for maximum comfort. Whenever it is connected to iOS devices like the iPad 2, earTones will deliver pristine audio for all games, videos and music applications.
Any apps that support audio input will also allow the earTones to function as a microphone for recording audio, empowering it with voice commands and VoIP headset capability. When it is in iPod mode, you are able to start, stop and skip between music tracks. Apart from that, the earTones will also function with the voice control feature on iPhone and iPod touch, letting users issue voice commands using the integrated mic.

Aircell smartphone | Aircell announces world's first 'airborne smartphone'

Making calls while you’re in the air is something that most of us try to avoid – after all, we’re told to turn off our electronic devices especially cell phones since they are said to interrupt with the aircraft’s communication systems, so the other alternative if you have a really desperate call to make would be to swipe your credit card and make taht really, really expensive phone call.
The next time you want to do so, why not do it in style with the Aircell? This is the first inflight smartphone of its kind in the world, where the next-generation cabin handset was specially designed for business aircraft. Hmmm, sounds as though normal economy class folk won’t be seeing it in action anytime soon. Anyways, enough ranting, let us take a closer look at what the Aircell offers in the extended post.
First of all, the Aircell smartphone will boast intuitive, menu-driven features, letting passengers place and receive voice calls aboard business aircraft in a way that is as easy and convenient as one would do whenever they have their feet firmly planted on the ground while holding a smartphone in their hand. It will run on the popular Android OS platform that will certainly mean you might even get Angry Birds installed on it to keep you occupied apart from the usual movies that they show in the small screen in front of you.
Other groundbreaking capabilities of the new Aircell smartphone includes the best voice quality in aviation, a bright, color touchscreen display that is touted to be the largest in the aviation industry where a telephony device is concerned, Bluetooth connectivity for a hands-free operation, an ingenious design for interchangeable wireless or wired operation, and integrated audio jack for wired headsets & earbuds among others. Expect the new Aircell smartphone to ship from late 2011 onwards, so your company’s business jet probably won’t see this upgrade just yet.

Triton ax pro headset review | Mad Catz TRITTON AX Pro headset for the Xbox 360 and PS3

Mad Catz, a company that carries plenty of gaming accessories across different platforms, has just announced the new TRITTON AX Pro headset that will make its way towards the Xbox 360 and PS3 consoles. After all, Mad Catz knows just how important it is to have the right kind of headset if you want to pick up all the noise and sound a game has to offer while you maximize your gaming experience.
With the TRITTON AX Pro, it does not matter whether you are a serious gamer or committed audio connoisseur – it is able to offer a truly authentic Dolby Digital 5.1 audio experience. Being different compared to Dolby Headphone technology, the AX Pro will use at least 8 precision-balanced speakers (with a quartet located within each ear cup) that will accurately reproduce 5.1 surround sound without the need for the common cop out move of emulating or simulating an audio experience.
Within individual ear cups, the AX Pro will house a front speaker, a center speaker, a rear speaker and a subwoofer. It is capable of offering a full 4 speaker configuration inside each ear cup as mentioned earlier on, allowing the AX Pro to replicate a typical 5.1 home cinema installation, where it will provide gamers with a truly realistic and unparalleled audio experience.
Apart from that, your eyes too will benefit from individual backlit volume controls which are handily located on the in-line remote, letting you access them even when all the lights around you are turned off. This too, lets gamers fine-tune each channel (front, rear, center, subwoofer) at the touch of a button without having to hide controls away on the ear cup.
As for the in-line remote, those who game on another level (pro-gamers) can dial-in the exact sound field required in order to obtain a competitive advantage such as raising rear drivers levels and adjusting the bass. Your ears too won’t suffer from any kind of fatique since premium-quality ear pads come with each £149.99 purchase, delivering hours of gaming comfort for extended gaming sessions.

Spice Popcorn Projector M9000 | Price, Features,

Spice has come up with a new kind of phone – one that is capable of projecting images from it to a flat surface elsewhere, freeing you of the task to tote around another projector in the process. We would say that inventions like this are more novel than practical, since it is going to do a number on your battery life, and you can’t really project anything that is high resolution due to hardware limitations. Still, let us not sideline the Popcorn Projector M-9000 phone since this is one of their initial efforts, so all encouragement should be given.
We do know that this handset is capable of displaying large images from a short distance, and throwing images isn’t the only thing which it is capable of. The handset will also come with various features including an FM radio, a TV antenna for your mobile TV needs (subject to area and reception, we presume), and a document viewer – enough to peruse through some work documents, but definitely unable to modify that Word doc or Excel spreadsheet.
The phone will also come equipped with a 2.4” QVGA display and a 3.2-megapixel digital camera, where you can view streaming content or display content that is saved on a T-flash memory card. The card slot itself is able to handle capacities of up to 16GB, and it does seem as though the phone will arrive in India first for RS 6999 (that is roughly $155 in American dollars) with no mention of a Stateside rollout.

Bluetooth Headset Camcorder | Ideal for Android Smart phone and others

A Bluetooth headset is pretty much commonplace, and more or less everyone who owns a cell phone has one of these in their pockets, at home, or dangling right outside their ear. The next time you see someone wearing something that is not quite like a Bluetooth headset, and yet isn’t a hearing aid, you might want to ask him/her whether this is theBluetooth Headset Camcorder or not.
This unique Bluetooth headset will not only record, but can transmit video over to a smartphone device. Of course, you can forget about living the High Definition life with this since it will shoot video at 480p resolution at 30 fps, which should be good enough for spy videos and to collect incriminating evidence of your adversary with but a glance.
Wirelessly transmitting an MPEG4 recording to an iPhone or Android smartphone, your smartphone will function as the viewfinder as you position your head to properly align the camcorder with your field of vision. All recorded video will be instantly shared via e-mail, either that or you can opt to post them on Facebook or Youtube with but a single button press. Seems to be the perfect toy for James Bond junior at a rather hefty $199.95.

Toshiba, Hitachi Halt LCD Production in Japan

Due to damage from the devastating earthquake in Japan, Toshiba has been forced to close down its LCD assembly line at a plant near Tokyo for a month, a Toshiba spokeswoman said on Thursday.
Another LCD maker, Hitachi, has also been forced to halt production at one of its factories, and Sony and Panasonic have also suspended operations at several of their plants.
The negative impact of these disruptions on Japan’s economy is obvious, but it’s hard to tell how they will affect global LCD supply, as Panasonic plans to offset the damage by increasing production in other factories, while Hitachi might get help from Taiwan-based Chimei Innolux Corp.

Some analysts think that smartphone shortages are still a possibility, though. “Given that the market for smartphones outside Japan is pretty active, supply disruptions there could cause problems for some handset makers of some models,” said Damian Thong, an analyst at Macquarie Capital Securities in Japan.
It’s too early to point to specific smartphone models, but the earthquake in Japan might soon start affecting us all in the way of “out of stock” signs.

Facebook Acquires Snaptu to Bring Social Networking to Feature Phones | Techiepk

Facebook has acquired Israeli startup Snaptu, a creator of simple mobile applications for feature phones, for an estimated $70 million.
Snaptu’s technology is designed to bring web service such as Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn to almost any phone through a series of applications it has designed. The company’s Java-based apps replicate many of the features of smartphone apps but make them accessible to the millions of people that don’t own a smartphone.
In fact, Facebook tapped Snaptu earlier this year to create its feature phone app, which provides an almost smartphone-like experience that includes contact syncing and a homescreen that will be familiar to users of the social network’s iPhone and Android applications. One of the reasons Facebook chose Snaptu is because its technology works on more than 2,500 different mobile devices.
“We soon decided that working as part of the Facebook team offered the best opportunity to keep accelerating the pace of our product development,” Snaptu said in blog post. “And joining Facebook means we can make an even bigger impact on the world.”

The deal, which will close in the next few weeks, was first reported in several Israeli publications. Snaptu was founded in 2007 as Mobilca and has raised funding from Sequioa Capital and Carmel Ventures.

T-Mobile G2X dual-core Android phone officially announced. First to come pre-loaded with Tegra Zone.

The T-Mobile version of the Optimus 2X by LG was rumored to be coming and was even spotted in a picture as booths were being set up at CTIA. Well it has now been officially announced with the name G2X which was recently leaked as well. This will be T-Mobile's first dual-core Android phone and also the first to come pre-loaded with nVidia's Tegra Zone app.
In case you are unaware of what Tegra Zone is, this is an app by nVidia that acts as a marketplace for Tegra 2 (and beyond) optimized games to make them much easier to find. It also offers reviews from sites (like ours) right in the description, gameplay videos and other great features you can check out before making a purchase. When you do make a purchase, it will use Google Checkout so no need to sign up for some other payment system if you already have a Checkout account.
T-Mobile G2X Specs recap:
  • Tegra 2 dual-core chip
  • 4" screen
  • Front and Rear cameras
  • 1080p HD video capture and playback
  • 4G and WiFI
Basically all the specs of the Optimus 2X are the ones for the G2X since it is the same phone. The only difference so far is that it will be coming pre-loaded with the Tegra Zone application. Also instead of any sort of skin running over Android, it'll be running stock Android 2.3. You can expect the G2X to be available sometime mid-April (rumors put it at April 20th).
If you're on T-Mobile this would be one phone to seriously consider getting if you plan to play any heavy graphical games.

White iPhone Is Coming This Spring June 2011 | Release Date & Review

The news surrounding the new upcoming Apple iPhone 5 and its release date is getting very hot under the collar to say the least and if all true a June release date is looking good.
The Motley Fool on MSNBC is reporting that the iPhone 5 will be available from June 20, 2011. We all know that the white iPhone 4 is releasing June 20th and Apple Marketing Phil Schiller verified this via Twitter. Now the question is will they release the white iPhone 4 or a new iPhone 5? Just a simple question we felt we should ask.
Apparently the iPhone 5 will come to Market June 20, we all know that Apple WILL NOT release at the white iPhone 4 and the iPhone 5 at the same time and considering Apple always releases a new iPhone in June we are suspecting it will be a new smartphone and not just a new colour, we could be wrong but we are only going on past releases.
Looking at other news covering the new iPhone 5 comes via MacRumors by way of China Times Reports (via GadgetsDNA) showing new photos of the metal chassis, MacRumors titled it article “iPhone 5 Due in Q3, 4-Inch Screen, Metal Chassis?”
China Times Reports the metal chassis and suggests that this new metal rim will help with signal as it will be the main antenna sensitivity, it will also be a 4-inch touchscreen smartphone. It is looking like the iPhone 5 will look like the iPhone 4 so not much in the way of design change here.

The Apple iPhone 5 may also support both GSM and CDMA networks just like the Verizon iPhone as we know this works.

Now the question is will they release the white iPhone 4 or a new iPhone 5? iPad 2 Covers | iPad 2 Set To Debut in 25 More Countries Friday

Two weeks after the U.S. launch, the iPad 2 will become available in 25 additional countries on Friday, March 25, Apple has announced.
The countries are Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the U.K.
Apple’s suggested price for the iPad 2 is the same as the U.S. price. It starts at $499 for the Wi-Fi-only, 16 GB model, and costs $829 for the 64 GB model with Wi-Fi and 3G. However, in reality, the prices in most of the above countries will be somewhat higher than in the U.S.
Apple has also announced that the iPad 2 will be available in Hong Kong, Korea, Singapore and additional countries in April.
Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster estimates between 400,000 and 500,000 iPad 2’s were sold in its first weekend, according to the UK’s Telegraph. This compares to 300,000 original iPads sold in its first weekend in April 2010.

Confirming Piper Jaffray’s numbers, Deutsche Bank’s Chris Whitmore calls it “one of Apple’s most successful product launches to date.”

In a survey of 236 potential buyers, Munster found 70 percent of iPad 2 buyers were new to the iPad. This compared to just 23 percent of iPhone 4 buyers who said the same thing when that product launched in June 2010.

This is significant in that it shows Apple is expanding its base of iPad users, which is critical in its quest to retain the lead in the growing tablet market.

However, at least in the short term, those numbers will only grow so much. For those that don’t own an iPad 2, or ordered one earlier online, you are out of luck. It appears most of the iPad 2 inventories are now exhausted.

Apple has yet to confirm these number

iWallet to prevent unwanted loss of valuables | TechiePk

Safety and security are two things that are more or less floating in the back of one’s head these days, as it certainly helps you sleep better at night when they’re well managed. For those of us who are part of the paranoid android group, you will be pleased to know that CEO and founder of iWallet Corp., Steve Cabouli, has come up with the iWallet which intends to protect others from easily gaining access to your wallet’s contents.
Take for example, parents who have actually kleptomaniac children living under the same roof as them – or perhaps, employees at a health club who have access to lockers. The iWallet is here to save the day, since it is smart enough to alert you whenever someone attempts to steal it, and will also do its bit in providing additional peace of mind just in case you either forget your cell phone or iWallet at a particular place and decide waltz off, thinking that everything else is fine and dandy in your little, perfect world. To know more about how the iWallet works, why not read on in the extended post and be amazed?

The iWallet will rely on biometric technology to do its job well, where it was specially developed to recognize the owner’s fingerprint choice. Should there be any attempt in unauthorized access, one will be locked out completely. When you combine that with available Carbon Fiber hard case construction, the iWallet also doubles up as a portable safe to keep your precious valuables out of reach of unwanted and unauthorized hands. Heck, apart from Carbon Fiber, you can also choose from fiberglass and polycarbonate models.
You name it, the iWallet is able to provide an additional level of security for cash, credit cards, driver’s license and social security cards amongst others. With RFID theft on the rise these days as well, the iWallet does its part in shielding all information capturing attempts via RFID – now how about that?
This $299 wallet can also pair up with cell phones via Bluetooth connectivity, so whenever your iWallet and phone are separated by 15 to 40 feet from one other, an audible alarm will enter into action to function as a theft deterrent or reminder, depending on the context.

Nokia’s Windows Phone 7 Concept Phone; The First Outcome Of The Giant Collaboration

In case there is any doubt, Nokia’s CEO Stephen Elop insists that Windows Phone 7 handsets are being developed at this very moment. However, release date has been pushed back to 2012.

Talking amid rumors that Microsoft and Nokia might actually be into acquisition talks, CEO Stephen Elop dismissed these claims, saying that production of a new Windows-based phone would be impossible in such a scenario. Instead, Windows Phone 7 handsets are currently in development, and the company plans to finish development within the year.

Elop clarified that the partnership agreement with Microsoft is still being ironed out at this point, which is expected to be finalized in a few months. For now, Nokia plans to get with the program, and focus on delivering its promise of a WP7 phone by year end. It still has to focus on the low-end spectrum of the mobile market, which is targeted at emerging markets, and comprises about 50% of Nokia’s business.
Again, Nokia’s CEO confirms they are building a WP7 phone, and that these will be out by 2012.

iPhone controls your kitchen island | iPhone World's iNews Aggregator

No longer is the superwoman multi-tasker the queen of the kitchen – it might seem as though your kitchen island will soon be controlled by nothing but an iPhone! Yup, the smartphone that has clearly revolutionalized the way we look at how humans interact with phones is not only able to let you enjoy your favorite music on the go, snap great photos and shoot videos, it will now be able to control stuff in your kitchen island.
There is a hydraulic scissor lift that is bolted to the cement, where a small frame is also built on top of the scissor lift table. Right on top of that is a subfloor, flooring, followed by the island. Its cabinet doors are located on the other side, where all of them will come with safety push button switches which ensures electricity from the Smart Home Insteon switches are “killed” to prevent any movement whenever the doors are not fully closed.
What are some of the other iPhone controlled items that you would love to have in your pad?

Galaxy Player VS iPod Touch

With two different versions of Samsung's Android-based music player headed to the US soon, we compare the Galaxy Player vs. the iPod Touch to see whether Samsung has a shot of ousting Apple.
The iPod Touch has owned the personal media player market since its introduction in 2007, and with Microsoft allegedly yanking the Zune from the market, it’s time for the new kid in town to challenge Apple’s media player. We have high hopes for the Samsung Galaxy Players, which we found out yesterday will finally be coming to the US. They have all the makings of a good iOS rival: running Android, built by a respectable company, and an existing following for the Galaxy branding.
Bear in mind, Samsung hasn’t released full details of the device quite yet (including one very important one: pricing), but we’ve taken it upon ourself to draw up some initial impressions of how the two media players will compare.
