Exynos 4 Quad-core chip for Samsung Galaxy S3 features

Electronics heavyweight Samsung will put quad-core silicon in its next Galaxy smartphone, upping the ante for mobile performance.
The Exynos 4 Quad integrates four processor cores and is built on the company's cutting-edge 32-nanometer manufacturing process. The chip will run at speeds above 1.4GHz, the company said in a statement today.
As a yardstick, the third-generation iPad uses older 45-nanometer Samsung manufacturing tech and its central processing unit is dual-core (though the graphics processing unit is quad-core). And most multi-core smartphones and tablets on the market today are dual-core.
Samsung's new chip--targeted at both tablets and smartphones--will land initially in the next Galaxy smartphone. "Already in production, the Exynos 4 Quad is scheduled to be adopted first into Samsung's next Galaxy smartphone that will officially be announced in May," Samsung said in a statement.
Samsung's statement continued. "The...processor is a crucial element in providing our customers with a PC-like experience on mobile devices. Samsung's next Galaxy device, which will be officially announced soon, offers uncompromised performance and ground breaking multi-tasking features."
That next Galaxy phone would likely be the Galaxy S3.
Other Exynos 4 Quad highlights that presage Galaxy S3 features:
  • Full-speed video: Uses 30fps video hardware codec engine for 1080p video recording and play-back; also, includes an embedded image signal processor interface for a high-quality camera and an HDMI 1.4 interface.
  • Speed jump: Owing to its 32-nanometer tech, the Exynos 4 Quad has "two times the processing capability over the 45-[nanometer] process based Exynos 4 Dual while consuming 20-percent less power," Samsung said.
  • Ready to plug into new phones: Exynos 4 Quad is "pin-to-pin compatible" with the Exynos 4 Dual, allowing smartphone and tablet suppliers to adopt the new solution without additional engineering or design efforts.
  • Based on ARM Cortex A9 design: Based on the current Cortex A9 tech from ARM. The latest and greatest ARM tech is called Cortex A15 but those chips won't emerge as commercial products for a while yet.

Useful thing in Liquid Keyboard is that all Keys adjust to the position of your fingers.

You probably know that on-screen keyboards aren’t ergonomical as actual physical keyboards, but in addition to the ergonomical problems, on-screen keyboards are also slower than regular keyboards because you can’t rest your hands on them, and you have to check every key before you press it. Luckily, there’s a solution called LiquidKeyboard.

Christian Sax and Hannes Lau from the University of Technology Sydney have developed a new type of on-screen keyboard called LiquidKeyboard. Unlike other on-screen keyboards, LiquidKeyboard adapts to the position of your hands and fingers, so your hands won’t feel uncomfortable while using it. The best thing about LiquidKeyboard is that all keys adjust to the position of your fingers, so you won’t have to check twice before pressing a certain key, meaning that you could type as fast as you would type on a regular computer keyboard.

LiquidKeyboard is designed for all users that are used to the standard physical keyboard, and if you have a tablet, LiquidKeyboard will be perfect for you. LiquidKeyboard was revealed recently at the Tech23 conference in Sydney, but so far, it’s only a concept, but we can’t wait to see it in action on our tablets.

Canadian Man Replaced His Eye With Camera Eye | Eyebrog

Today i, Mubashir Abbas want to introduce you a Eyeborg.
Rob Spence, also known as Eyeborg, lost his eye due to the accident, and ever since then, Rob has been working with the team of engineers to develop a camera replacement for his lost eye. Together they have managed to transform an endoscope into a working video camera that is placed inside of Rob’s eye socket. As for this camera, it transmits the wireless video signal to a handheld LCD viewer wirelessly, and Rob turns the camera by moving the magnet in front of the camera. So far, this camera isn’t connected to Rob’s brain, but someday scientists might find a way to do that.
Bionic eyes are still far away, but scientists believe that they will manage to connect bionic eye with a visual cortex someday in the future and help many visually impaired worldwide.

Facebook Plans To Add Photo Filter to its Mobile App

After a recent privacy and sharing update on Facebook, Facebook is working hard on new improvements, and according to the reports, this update will  focus on photos and photo filters.
The New York Times is reporting that Facebook plans to add photo filters to its mobile app "in the coming months," looking to challenge Instagram,Camera+ and other camera apps with built-in fancy filters. Facebook is already a dominant photo-sharing platform, and it offers much higher resolution images than Instagram - for what it's worth - but with the addition of "almost a dozen" filters, Facebook will try to take back some of the art of phone photography.

The engineers said Facebook will introduce almost a dozen photo filters, including some that are similar to Instagram like old-style camera lenses and grainy film. Facebook will also try to introduce new styles of filters with the hopes of drawing users away from other photo apps.

Instagram, created by Burbn, is an easy photo filter app for iOS. The app lets you take quick photos or use photos that already exist in your iPhone, apply creative filters and share it with friends on Flickr, Facebook or Twitter. You can also tag your photos with location using your foursquare account. The app has over 11 different custom filters that you can apply to your photos.

Brief Advantages of Social Networking Sites.

Social Networking sites, as everything in this world, bring about two extreme reactions. You either like it blindly or hate it like your ex – girlfriend. There can’t be another way. I am more than sure that all of us have heard these two opposite sentences at least once in our lives, “I cannot live a single day without a Social Networking site” and “What on earth are all these Social networks about? I’ll never register on any of them”.
There is still some group of people (mostly elderly people) that doesn’t comprehend the essence and idea of Social Networks considering them just a waste of time. However it is not casual that these sites have tempted millions of people worldwide. So there must be something that is worth having. The question is what it exactly is.
No one can deny that despite all those negative opinions about Social Networks they do have a strong impact on us and taking into consideration how fast their popularity is growing, it is not difficult to predict that this influence will become even more perceivable in the nearest future. So once we can do nothing but watch the development of Social Networks we had better look for and find the advantages they possess rather than point out their negative sides all the time (don’t be so skeptical, they do have positive sides).
In general the main vocation of a Social Network is to be a virtual platform where people can communicate and share information with their friends. As you can see there is no danger in this mission, the vice versa.Nevertheless, nowadays such kind of websites has gone far from their initial destination and that is the main reason why people are ambiguous about their usefulness. In any case Social websites have fulfilled humans’ long – standing dream that is the opportunity for quick and reliable information. In addition they enable people to create and strengthen relationships.
Social Networks join people with common interests under one roof and makes the communication much easier especially for those who have difficulties in interacting with people face to face. However you should always remember that once you enter the world of Social Networking it will become rather difficult for you to get out of it. So be so prudent in order not to be caught in the net of Social networking.

“Expected: Child” option on Facebook profiles.Facebook flipped | add your unborn baby to your list of family members.

Sometime in the past week, Facebook flipped the switch on allowing you to add your unborn baby to your list of family members via the “Expected: Child” option on Facebook profiles. Apparently too many parents were creating “illegal” fake profiles for their yet unhatched offspring — setting their fake babies’ ages to 13 instead of negative whatever, the minimum Facebook allows.
Also, I dare you to come up with a bolder customer acquisition strategy than getting them hooked while they’re still in the womb!
Of course this very important news caused an Internet earthquake, and as the aftershocks hit mainstream media CNN split its screen into four! boxes (below) so four women who are experts on the subject of declaring that you’re pregnant could talk about whether the social network had gone too far. Meanwhile America is technically fighting two wars.
But maybe expectant moms like care about this stuff, and stuff? I mean how would I know? My uterus is currently as barren as the T.S. Eliot poem. Hoping to shed some light on the subject, I asked resident TechCrunch pregnancy representative Sarah Lacy what she thought about the Facebook change, “I couldn’t care less about it. Anyone who is remotely close to me already knows I’m pregnant.”
That horse has already left the barn, indeed.

Matthew Epstein wants to work at Google | Google, Please Hire This Guy

Matthew Epstein wants to work at Google, bad. In his quest for a gig on the company’s product marketing team, he’s set up this cool website, and more interestingly, made the video below. (Via Hacker News, where he’s evidently being criticized by people who appear to be extremely passionate about criticizing other people relentlessly).
Googlepleasehire.me (get it, me? Matthew Epstein? Ha!) has been live for a couple of days now, and at the time of the launch Epstein wrote that this is just the beginning of his quest to land a job at Google:
I have several big marketing and PR initiatives scheduled and I can’t wait for Google and everyone else to see them. The next 21 days will prove whether I walk the walk or just talk the talk.
This isn’t about proving to people that I excel at marketing, this is about proving to myself that I have what it takes to solve complicated problems with enthusiasm and passion.
Also, making rather amusing videos.

For what it’s worth, Google has already gotten in touch with Epstein but informed him that he should go through the standard hiring processes over there (which he’s fine with).
My spider senses are betting on Epstein getting hired rather swiftly, though.
in response of above, John Ellis from the University of Liverpool said: "For somebody so confident I don't see why he doesn't go for a real challenge. Google's brand is already strong enough for it to force itself into any market- browsers, social media etc. I would like to see people with passion and determination working where it makes sense.
Rather than begging a large company for a job because it's cool to work there he could work for one of the very large companies who are trying to compete- I'd rather work for an underdog with deep-pockets than work marketting for a company that barely needs it".
